Master of the Craft

"Do me a draft?

I'm not that daft!"

"I know what to do" he cockily laughed

"I’ve written poems several times.

Ranging from 3 - 1000 lines.

Just pass me the paper and a decent pen,

I'll show you now I can write again."

"There you see, the first two lines,

Starts it off.....The setting that finds!

Now we have the opening two,

Lets see what we can do for you!”

“Lets construct a consistent flow,

Put down the tip-ex! Let it go!

Just trust me my friend, its gonna be good,

I’ve thought about this as much as I could."

"Right, lets see, mmm that sounds ok.

That bit can go and that bit can stay.

Maybe we'll move this bit round.

Is that an error that I’ve just found?”

“Right, were on our way and getting there.

This papers so thin..so easy to tare.

Lets concentrate on the middle bit,

The main body of text and how it'll fit."

"Ok that’s it, the final line.

Now isn’t that just so divine?!

Look, it didn’t take me long,

And I didn’t get a single bit wrong.

Straight from my mind and onto the page!

I can still do it now, at my old age!

I can tell you’re happy with the result

I told you! So next time don’t insult!

I don’t need to do a draft!

I’m an age old master of the craft!"
