Magnificent Flower

There was once a magnificent

flower that stood out for its purity and beauty and strength. The flower was a gift for all to behold and cherish.

One day a fellow flower begin to lean closer and closer to the flower so that it could compare itself, and seem that by being next to the flower, itself was also beautiful.

The magnificent flower took pity on the lesser beautiful flower and though that by teaching it what was in her heart could appease, please and build up the fellow flower.

However as the time passed the fellow flower became belittled and jealous of the fuller flower. The magnificent flower knew this, but because of her beauty and purity she offered a branch of her goodness from within, and allowed the fellow flower to drink the same stem as her beauty, honesty, purity and wisdom.

The fellow flower began to grow. It became stronger and better and more confident. It began to now see her inner beauty in its own bloom. It wanted to be acknowledged for all the magnificent flower was, and when it looked at her it only tried to see itself, and though that because the flower was good, then so must be it.

However the magnificent flower began to slowly loose her strength, beauty and poise. Her once adorable bloom began to slowly fade. Her petals began to wilt and her strength and will weakened.

Yet still she continued to strengthen the bond with the fellow flower. After all she had now invested a multitude in the lesser flower. How could she now stop the thing that depended on her?

The fellow flower noticed the change in the magnificent flower, yet it was also thinking of what the flower had done and given, and it was now dependent on its strength just to survive.

The magnificent flower gave and gave and gave.

The lesser flower took and took and took, without investing back.

The magnificent flower was reduced to a withered, drained and faithless being. And the fellow flower alone & guilty because it had taken all that was given and did nothing in return but dwell within its own fortune, with no gratitude, grace, beauty or poise. Poisoned by its own jealousy.

Eventually the lesser flower died tired and empty. For this is the only possible outcome for the selfish, when generosity is not reciprocated.

So...Magnificence, beauty, love, purity, hope and sacrifice, all taken in vain by a being with no love for another.

A being who inadvertently took a life! A sacrifice...worth and reduced to nothing.
