Life you have taught me oh so much!

How to be graceful and tenderly touch

You have taught me to learn from past mistakes

Taught me that life, it gives not takes

You have made me suffer to make me strong

Pointed out reasons to prove I can be wrong

You have made me deal with loss and grief

You have proven its easy to turn a new leaf

Taught me that guilt is just no good

I'd regret regret if I only could

You have taught me to use the best of my senses

Accept them as gifts and natures defences

You taught me the utter beauty of life

And to treasure my family and loving wife

Shown me beauty when I should look

Given advice through the medium of book

Taught me to treasure and spread true love

Granted me peace when I look above

Posted a message on peoples lips

Voice of an angel with hidden tips

Taught me to live each day as my last

Taught me that the depth of a soul is vast

Showed me innocence in a child's eyes

Showed me the strength in family ties

Taught me the power of the human mind

Equip me with the will to seek and find

You have taught me well and now I am ready

To use my knowledge to make me steady

You taught me that I should reap what I sew

So I plant my seeds and watch them grow!

I'll always remember what I learn

And on you my back I will never turn.
